I know.. I know. Yes, I know. 2020 has been some type of way bi, I know. A lot has happened in this year so far and it has been weird and scary at the same time.
You know, at the beginning of the year, as we all usually do, we had plans for the year and we probably wrote them down somewhere hoping for them all to be fulfilled. The funny thing is, some of us (like me) even had timelines to go with our plans being fulfilled. Like we knew exactly when we wanted certain plans to come to pass within the year.
I don’t mean to be intrusive, but how far with all the plans you made for this year? What are the thoughts going through your head as you think about all the things you had plan on doing in this year?
Now, lemme ask that question… have you given up on this year yet? Lemme ask another one please… Are you planning to give up on this year?
Okay now, lemme share something with you: If I show you the things I wrote down that I wanted to achieve this year, you will probably ask me if Jesus had told me He was returning this year.
At the start of the year, I was super hyped because I really believed that all my plans were going to come to pass according to my timing. BUT THEY DID NOT. Yes they did not and you know what, I AM SO HAPPY!
You know, the God that we serve, He is not me or you that He will do things according to how He is feeling. All the plans I made to be achieved by the first half of the year did not happen on my terms. In fact, God took my plans and He said:
To humans belong the plans of the heart, but from the Lord comes the proper answer of the tongue. 2 All a person’s ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the Lord. 3 Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans (Proverbs 16: 1-3, NIV).
I really want to encourage you because I keep hearing and seeing things like “lets restart 2020”, “2020 is cancelled” all on social media and I get it, this year has not gone the way we all wanted it to go.
However, do you know that God still has great plans for your life? Yes, God is still doing what He does best; which is to ensure that you will have an expected end! God is not man that He should lie or change his mind (Numbers 23:19).
God is very aware of all the plans you have. Can I suggest something? Take those plans back to Him and let Him have FULL control over them and DO NOT WORRY about them! Let our Daddy in heaven direct and guide you on how to ace all your plans for this year or when He sees fit for them to be completed.
The things that you thought you needed 12 months to complete, our God is so amazing that He can equip you to complete everything in 6 months. Yes. God can do that.
Keep believing. Keep Praying. Keep walking in His ways. Keep spending time meditating on His word day and night. Keep listening to Him. Keep your focus on God and ask Him for help when you need it.
Don’t give up on your plans. New opportunities are coming your way in Jesus name! Amen!
